Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday asked the people to give a massive mandate to YSRCP to continue its welfare programmes by outrightly rejecting Telugu Desam Party and its allies.

He formally launched the poll bugle from Bheemili, a 17th century Dutch township. A massive crowd turned up from 34 Assembly segments representing six North Coastal Andhra districts at the rally named 'Sidham' (possible) with a call to win all 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats.

While giving details on Nava Ratnalu-(nine promises) made during his padayatra before 2019 general elections, he said the YSRCP Government is credited with putting an end corruption by introducing 'revolutionary' ward/village Sachivalayams as part of decentralisation and bringing governance at the doorsteps of the people.

Stating that TDP and Jana Sena had no courage to field candidates in all constituencies on their own, he said they are bereft of any ideology. "They want to hoodwink people with false promises and by making use of yellow media for cheap propaganda," he stated.

Reddy said "why not we win all 175 MLA and 25 MP seats when we have fulfilled all pre-poll promises and initiated several proactive policies unlike the TDP-which believes in looting the exchequer." He said the YSRCP Government had disbursed benefits worth Rs 2.53 lakh crore through DBT and sanctioned 30 lakh house-sites. "We have also cleared waiver of loans worth Rs 14,200 crore taken by Self-Help Groups, which Naidu had failed to fulfill," he stated.

He said each beneficiary house should send a 'star' campaigner for YSRCP as the countdown for elections has already commenced.

He also advised his supporters to prepare a strong army for campaigning digitally by using their smartphones and by undertaking a door-to-door canvassing to explain the welfare programmes implemented by the YSRCP Government.
